Meer Anees
Mir Babar Ali Anees (1803–1874) was a 19th-century Indian poet from Lucknow, widely considered the master of Urdu Marsiya (elegiac poetry). Known for his profound command of language and vivid descriptions of the Battle of Karbala, he elevated this genre by blending emotional narratives with realistic, dramatic battle scenes, often described as the "Khuda e Sukhan" meaning God of Poetry.
